The Blue Lip Trend

I know that it has been a while, but, after a conversation that I had with one of my prophytes/friends, I was inspired to start blogging again. So, just be on the look out for more fashion inspiration in the near future. :-)

But, for today, let's talk about the BLUE lip trend! I have been seeing it more often lately and I just wanted to know what everyone else's opinions are on it. I have concluded that I am absolutely, positively, most certainly AGAINST it!!!!!!

Here is why.

I feel like it is one of the "costume-y" trends that only models and celebrities can get away with. And they can really only get away with it on the red carpet or on the runway. Not on an everyday basis. One of my linesiters said it best, "It looks like they fell in some cake frosting!" I have to admit. I can get with the teal blue before I can get with sky blues and the royal blues. I have seem some people wear the teal lipstick that OCC came out with this past spring and it doesn't look as bad. But, honestly, the whole trend is pretty clown-esque, if you ask me.

Lacey and Sexy

I know it's been a minute. But I have been super busy, and not to mention stressed out... I have a lot going on. So, if you read this, please pray for me. Anywho, I wore this amazing outfit to an party at House of Blues. I thought that this outfit was going to be dll be doing the most! And, that it was! But in a good way. :-)

I got oh so many compliments on my lipstick. I think a red lip looks AMAZING  with bright neon colors like neon corals and neon greens. Welp! The outfit details will be below and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

Yellow Canvas - Black Paint

Hello again. Ok! I went to this LAME Seagram's Model Search Event a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't too sure what this event would be like or what kind of people would be there because I had never been before. But I got free tickets so I was like, "What the heck!"

Honestly, I was scared it was going to be a tad bit "ratchett"! But it was ok. Like, it wasn't ratchettness everywhere but, I have been to better events. Pretty much, it was a live model search and they threw it in this club. There were complimentary Seagram's Gin cocktails and a few appetizers. The prospective models walked around and talked to everyone so that they could potentially gain support from the audience once the competition started.

Well........ it was taking waaaaaayyyyyyy too long to start, so me and my friend scadattled right on up outta there!.

Here are a few pics of me and what I wore. Nothing too fancy. And please be on the look out for this dress again. I wasn't as pleased with the outfit as I would have liked to be and I have a much bigger vision for this dress. So, yea.

Neon's

ITS SO BRIGHT!!!!!!!!!! AHH!!!!!! LOL.

So, lately I have been looking at this neon trend. I hated it at first. And I kind of still do. Hmm... what's a girl to do? Suck it up and try something bold and vibrant??? Or stick to the typical, less loud, colors??? You know, something less of an attention getter. LOL. I love the way that the colors look on celebrities and models. But, they are also on TV and in magazines. But, we shall see. I will have to think about this a bit first. You will know I tried it when I post it! Ha!

If I decided to do anything, my favorite neon would have to be the neon yellowish/greenish color.

Outfit of the Night

I wanted to share the outfit I wore to a club last week. Actually, it was the same day as the last post... I was feeling the pink and white that day. I think lighter colors look good on my skin tone. I wanted to dress up but this is like a bar turned club so a lot of people dress pretty plain Jane there. So, cute, but casual.. Just two pics... Let me know what you think.

Following Trends: High-Low Skirt

Now, I am not exactly one to follow trends. But as I get more and more into liking (or lately, loving) fashion, I have seen both stars, fashion icons, and bloggers all make some of these trends look extremely fly!!!!

So, with that being said, I have set out to try out some of the newest and latest trends for Spring/Summer. It's really been exciting shopping for these styles. I saw a few bloggers wear the high-low skirts and dresses, and every time I saw them, I thought they looked amazing! So, I couldn't wait to go out and purchase one of my own. Now that I have worn it, and loved the way I styled it and the way it looked on me, might I add, I want to purchase a few more in this style. Maybe two more skirts and two dresses. Yay! I can't wait.

On to what I wore. I was off this past Friday and decided to go to Happy Hour in the late afternoon with a couple of the LS's. And, because I was off, I had a little time to get myself more together, and actually sit and pick out an outfit! I loved it and I received several compliments. What do you think?

New Look on Life...

I have been low-key depressed. Not depressed depressed, but feeling a little uneasy. So, yesterday I decided that it was definitely time for a picker upper. I purchased Joel Osteen's Daily Devotional Book. "Your Best Life: Begins Each Morning". I read it this morning and it already has me feeling that much better.

Affordable and Cute Make-Up Tutorial

I decided to do my make up real fancy yesterday... LOL. It was the first time I was actually successful at putting on my very own eyelashes.

I do consider this an affordale make-up tutorial. I just haven't been able to get into brushes the way I would like. I literally use the same 4 brushes. And I use the little sponge wedges for my liquid foundation. I will probably get more into using the different kinds of brushes moving forward.

Dominican Blowout

So I got a Dominican Blowout this past Thursday! I loved it, but it was humid and raining all weekend so you know it didn't last long at all... not long at all. -_- I got it done Thursday afternoon, and by Tursday night it was... done.

Because I knew I didn't want to put heat on it again and I didn't want to wash it again, I decided to do a two strand twist. I was going to twist it out but it looked okay with just the twist. Here are a few pics.Above, where you see me in the chair, she is cutting my split ends. I had like 2 1/2 inches worth of split ends. Crazy?! I know!!! So that's why I wasn't really trippin on my hair messing up so quickly 'cause I needed them ends cut hunny! LOL.

I'm Back

Ok!!! I am back!!!!!

So, today I get on the computer at work and decide to go ahead and start a blog. I have a youtube channel, TheCharNicole, but I was like, "What the heck. Let's do this too!" So, as I sign up, it says that I already have an account, and low and behold, my email addy pops up. I started a blog 2 whole years ago!!!! Wow. Really? Smh. I have no idea why I didn't follow through with it but I am back now, and I am ready to blog!!!

Hopefully, I will start to make time to both blog and vlog, but most likely it will be more blogging! It is just easier for me to type and post pics, than to film vids. Yeesh! I have no idea how the youtubers do it, but I do know I am trying to get on the youtube video bloggers' level.

WOW! I have come a long way from wanting to be natural. I am a natural queen now!!!!! Because I have 4C type hair, I have alot of what I like to call "shrinkage." But my hair has grown. I will post pics soon.

So, yea. Look forward to pics and some fashion posts as well. I will hopefully talk to you sooner than later!!!
